80 %

75–85% looks like the original to most people, at a fraction of the size.

Need to send photos by email, upload them to a form with a size limit, or speed up your website? This JPG compressor shrinks JPEG photos in seconds while keeping them looking sharp. Pick a quality, or set a target like “under 500 KB” and let it find the best result for each photo.

Compress one photo or a whole batch, resize at the same time if you like, and download everything as a ZIP. It all happens in your browser, so your photos never leave your device. No sign-up, no watermark.

Got PNG, WebP or HEIC files? The full image compressor handles those too.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop your JPG photos onto the box above, or tap "Choose images". JPG output is already selected.
  2. 2Pick a quality (80% is a good start), or switch to "Target size" and choose a limit like 500 KB.
  3. 3Each photo is compressed straight away — check how much smaller it got, then download them one by one or as a ZIP file.

Questions and answers

What quality should I use for JPG?

75–85% looks the same as the original for almost every photo and is often a half to a tenth of the size. Go lower only if the file must be very small — below about 60% you may start to see blocky edges.

Why is my JPG so big in the first place?

Phones and cameras save photos at very high quality and full resolution, so a single picture can be 4–10 MB. That's more than screens, email and websites need.

Can I get it under a specific size, like 1 MB?

Yes. Choose "Target size" and pick the limit. BoltDeck finds the best quality that fits for each photo, and makes it slightly smaller if needed.

Does compressing a JPG again make it worse?

A little each time, so it's best to compress from the original photo rather than from an already-compressed copy.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Compression happens in your own browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to BoltDeck or anyone else.
