A QR code is the quickest way to get someone from paper, a screen or a sign to a website, a menu, a Wi-Fi password or any piece of text. Type or paste what you want to share and your code appears straight away, ready to download as a sharp PNG or an infinitely scalable SVG. You can match the colours to your brand, and the tool tells you if a colour choice might make the code hard to scan.
How to use it
- 1Paste a link or type any text into the box. The QR code updates as you type.
- 2Pick the colours and error correction level if you want something other than the defaults.
- 3Download it as PNG for documents and social media, or SVG for print and design tools.
- 4Test it with your phone's camera before you print or share it.

Questions and answers
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. The site is paid for by ads, never by your data.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The link or text is stored inside the code itself, not on a server, so the code works for as long as the link it points to works.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG works everywhere and is best for screens, email and social media. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, so it's the better choice for posters, flyers and design software.
What does error correction mean?
It's spare information built into the code, so it still scans if part of it is dirty, damaged or covered. Higher levels are more robust but make the pattern denser. Medium suits most uses; choose highest if you plan to put a logo on top.
Why won't my coloured QR code scan?
Scanners need clear contrast and dark squares on a light background. If the colours are too similar, or the code is light on dark, some phones can't read it. The tool warns you when that happens.
